Motivation

This is a love letter to the immersive show Sleep No More, and an attempt to compile, organize and archive some of the information about the cast, in a way that is accessible and easy to navigate, to allow remembering, discovering, and celebrating the many talented performers who have brought the show to life over the years.

While there are no official records, there are many dedicated fans who have kept track of the casts over the years. So it is also a tribute to the vibrant and passionate community that has formed around the show, and a way to celebrate the collective effort of everyone who has contributed to the cast list in some way.

Data Quality

The information on this site is crowdsourced and may not be 100% accurate. But most importantly, it is incomplete in various ways. For a lot of shows there is no cast information at all, and for many others the cast list only contains a few performers.

If you have information about any shows that are missing or incomplete, please consider contributing to the cast list! Visit the Sprawling Google Doc (the SGD) to learn more.

There's especially little information about the early years of the show. For example, the cast lists contain Mio Ishikawa more than 400 times, but Kelly Bartnik less than 10 times, even though they are both known to be very prolific performers in the show.

The chart below shows the distribution of shows by how complete their cast list is, measured by the percentage of roles that have at least one performer listed. The 0% bucket represents shows with no cast information (which also is estimated based on the roughly 5000 performances), while the 100% bucket represents shows with a complete cast list.

And even that is not the full story, because some roles were removed or added during the run of the show, so for some shows the cast list may be complete but still not fully accurate.
